Laying the Foundation for Attracting Overseas Patients
The Southeast Regional Radiation Oncology Hospital (Director: Lee Changhun) recently invited major medical tourism agencies from Russia and Kazakhstan to host a buyer consultation meeting and a familiarization tour.
This event was part of an overseas medical tourism activation program promoted by the Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, and was organized to strengthen the foundation for attracting global patients.
At the "Russia-Kazakhstan Medical Tourism Buyer Invitation Consultation Meeting" held on October 26, one-on-one tailored business meetings took place with agencies from both countries. The subsequent familiarization tour brought a delegation of 13 people, including eight representatives from the agencies-five from Russia and three from Kazakhstan-to the hospital.
The tour included a hospital roundtable, a visit to the guesthouse, a tour of radiation therapy and nuclear medicine diagnostic equipment, and an inspection of the health screening center. The delegation expressed strong interest in the hospital's expertise in diagnosis and treatment, as well as its international patient support system. They were particularly impressed by advanced cancer treatment processes such as hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) and cryoablation therapy for cancer.
The CEO of VIVA CITY, a Russian medical tourism agency, commented, "The Southeast Regional Radiation Oncology Hospital is a trusted comprehensive cancer center because it offers accurate diagnosis and safe treatment," expressing anticipation for future patient referral collaborations.
Hospital Director Kim Beopjong stated, "This familiarization tour served as an opportunity to strengthen our cooperative system with medical institutions and agencies in Russia and Kazakhstan. We will continue to expand international exchange activities to establish ourselves as a global cancer center where overseas patients can seek care with confidence."
