On December 2, Law&Company announced that it had been awarded the 2025 Prime Minister's Commendation for Contributions to the Development of the Software Industry, in recognition of its contributions to revitalizing the software industry.
The Commendation for Contributions to the Development of the Software Industry is an award presented annually by the Ministry of Science and ICT during the 'Software Industry Day' ceremony, to encourage those who have made significant contributions to the advancement of South Korea's software industry.
The awards ceremony, held the previous day at El Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Bae Kun-hoon, National Assembly Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee members Lee Juhee and Lee Haemin, Korea Artificial Intelligence and Software Industry Association Chairman Cho Joonhee, and other key figures who congratulated the recipients.
Law&Company, which received the Prime Minister's Commendation, was recognized for introducing SuperLawyer, the nation's first legal AI service utilizing new software technologies such as artificial intelligence, and for delivering innovative services to the legal industry. In particular, the company was selected as an awardee for its outstanding achievements in leading the popularization and advancement of AI technology in the legal field through continuous research and development.
Law&Company, recognizing the high potential of artificial intelligence, established its Legal AI Research Institute in 2019 and has since focused on technological research. As a result, in July of last year, the company launched SuperLawyer, the first and only commercial legal AI service in Korea, which is enhancing the efficiency of legal work and driving AI transformation within the legal industry.
Currently, just 17 months after its launch, SuperLawyer has secured nearly 19,000 subscribers, representing close to half of all lawyers in Korea, and boasts a 1.7-fold improvement in lawyers' work efficiency.
Notably, in the case of the bar exam, SuperLawyer surpassed the initial passing threshold (96 correct answers) for the first time in March this year by scoring 111 correct answers, and in May, it demonstrated high answer accuracy by achieving 123 correct answers, placing it in the top 5% of successful candidates. This marks the first time in a non-English-speaking country that an AI service has solved the entire multiple-choice section of the bar exam in the native language and achieved a passing score.
Through these achievements, Law&Company recently became the first Korean company to be selected as a winner in the AI category at the LegalTech Breakthrough Awards 2025, a global awards program recognizing the world's most innovative companies, thereby demonstrating its global technological competitiveness in the legal AI sector.
