Applications Accepted from December 9 to 12
Applicants to Foreign Language, Autonomous Private, and International High Schools May Also Apply to General High Schools Simultaneously
The Daejeon Office of Education will distribute and accept applications for admission to general high schools and autonomous public high schools in Daejeon Metropolitan City for the 2026 academic year from December 9 to December 12, 2025.
Third-year middle school students currently enrolled or graduates from middle schools within Daejeon City must apply collectively through their respective middle schools to the Daejeon Office of Education. Students from middle schools in other cities or provinces, as well as those who have passed the qualification exam, can apply individually by visiting the Daejeon Assessment Management Center on the 4th floor of the city’s Office of Education.
For detailed information regarding the application process, applicants should refer to the Daejeon Office of Education website and check the announcement titled "2026 Daejeon General High School and Autonomous Public High School Admission Guidelines."
Meanwhile, applicants to foreign language high schools, autonomous private high schools, and international high schools may apply simultaneously to general high schools. The results for general high schools will be announced on January 7, 2026, after the announcement of results for foreign language high schools, autonomous private high schools, and international high schools has been completed.
After the announcement of successful candidates, 60% of students will be assigned to schools through a lottery system reflecting students’ preferences, while the remaining 40% will be assigned using a Geographic Information System (GIS)-based allocation method. Academic performance will not be considered in the assignment process. The final assignment results will be announced on January 16, 2026.
