Through this enforcement, Gapyeong County aims to resolve these traffic issues and ensure public safety.
The main sections targeted for enforcement are: a 70-meter stretch at the entrance road to Sodol Village in Daeseong 1-ri, a 20-meter section at the entrance road in front of the Daeseong 3-ri village hall, and the road in front of Hillstate in Gapyeong-eup-a total of three areas. These locations were already designated as no-parking zones on September 17, but repeated illegal parking continued to cause inconvenience for residents, leading to ongoing calls for stricter enforcement.
Prior to the full-scale enforcement, Gapyeong County completed preliminary procedures such as administrative notice, painting of no-parking lines on the road surface, and installation of signs and banners. In addition, starting from November 11, the county distributed notices directly to vehicles parked in the no-parking zones, informing drivers that enforcement would begin on December 1, and focused on on-site public awareness efforts.
Tak Hyekyung, head of the Transportation Division, stated, "The roads in front of Sodol Village and Hillstate have caused significant inconvenience for residents. We have no choice but to enforce these measures to establish traffic order and ensure residents' safety. Since enforcement will begin immediately from December 1, we ask all drivers to exercise special caution."
