About 30 members of the 'Life's Good Volunteer Group,' composed of LG Electronics employees, prepared kimchi for 300 low-income disabled households in Seoul. They then visited the recipients' homes nearby to deliver the kimchi, checking on the health and well-being of neighbors in need. In addition, the 'Life's Good Volunteer Group' provided a sharing meal, including kimchi and boiled pork, to about 160 people with disabilities who use the Yongsan Disabled Welfare Center.
LG Electronics also donated one 'LG DIOS AI Objet Collection Kimchi Talk Talk' refrigerator to the Yongsan Disabled Welfare Center. This product features an 'AI Customized Storage' function that sets the optimal temperature by comprehensively considering the type of kimchi and manufacturer information scanned from packaged kimchi barcodes using the ThinQ app. It is equipped with a multi-purpose partition that separates the upper compartment left and right, allowing each space to be individually set for kimchi, refrigeration, or freezing.
This year marks the 13th year that LG Electronics has carried out kimchi sharing activities for marginalized groups. With the exception of 2021, which was affected by COVID-19, the company has continued this initiative annually since 2012. Kimchi is delivered to households that have difficulty making it themselves, such as those in jjokbangchon (makeshift housing areas), self-reliant young adults, and children's care facilities, providing practical assistance.
In addition, the 'Life's Good Volunteer Group' at LG Electronics is practicing sharing throughout the community. They conduct a variety of volunteer activities, from career mentoring for youth across the country, to providing special meals for children and adolescents with disabilities, to environmental clean-up. The group has also worked to improve educational environments for future generations in countries such as Mongolia and Myanmar.
