View original imageThe Council of Heads of Environmental Research Institutes elected Lee Youngki, Director of the Korea Water Resources Investigation Institute (hereinafter referred to as "the Institute"), as its 16th president at the 2025 second-half regular general meeting held at the Korea Polar Research Institute in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, on November 28.
The Council, established in 2001, is a leading consultative body in the environmental sector and serves as a nationwide cooperative network in which the heads of over 20 environmental research institutes participate to advance national environmental and climate research.

I will work to drive innovation in the national environmental research system by strengthening joint research and policy cooperation among member institutions."
