Recognized for Efficient Sewage Treatment and Commitment to Carbon Neutrality

View original imageThe Ministry of Environment conducts a comprehensive evaluation every year of the efficiency, technological capability, and environmental performance of sewerage operation and management for 160 local governments nationwide, aiming to establish competitive sewerage systems.
In this evaluation, Guri City received high marks in all areas, including exceeding its greenhouse gas reduction targets and practicing carbon neutrality, demonstrating strong capabilities in preventing sewer flooding and safety accidents, and promoting odor reduction in the sewer system.
Additionally, the establishment of a smart sewerage management system through research and development and operational improvements to enhance sewage treatment efficiency was also a key factor in the city’s excellent evaluation.
Mayor Baek Kyunghyun stated, "Being selected as the best institution once again recognizes Guri City's capabilities in sewerage operation and management," adding, "We will continue to pursue various policies such as advancing smart management and expanding sewage reuse to ensure environmentally friendly and efficient sewerage operations."
