Gyeonggi Province Collects 1.6 Billion Won Through Seizure of Overdue Vehicles
Gyeonggi Province has collected 1.6 billion won in overdue taxes, including automobile taxes, through its crackdown on overdue vehicles this year.
From March to October, Gyeonggi Province targeted vehicles with more than three overdue automobile tax payments or arrears exceeding 300,000 won. The province conducted crackdowns in areas with high vehicle concentrations, such as large supermarkets, various event venues, and highway toll booths, collecting 210 million won in the first quarter, 140 million won in the second quarter, 190 million won in the third quarter, and 310 million won in the fourth quarter, totaling 850 million won.
In addition, in March, after distributing information on 28,693 suspected ghost vehicles to cities and counties, the province seized an additional 1,251 vehicles and auctioned off 206 vehicles, collecting 755 million won.

Noh Seungho, Director of the Tax Justice Division at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We will strictly respond to habitual and chronic tax delinquents to protect diligent taxpayers and establish a fair tax order." He added, "By the end of December, Gyeonggi Province will aim for 'zero overdue taxes' and take strong measures against malicious delinquents in accordance with laws and principles."
