Global Venture Capital and AI Companies Participate, Highlighting Opportunities for European Market Expansion
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), together with Incheon Technopark and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, set up a unified Korea Pavilion at "Slush 2025," held in Helsinki, Finland, for two days starting November 19, to support domestic startups in expanding into the European market.
Slush is recognized as one of the world’s leading startup conferences, attracting around 3,500 investors and 5,500 entrepreneurs each year. This year, the event brought together approximately 13,000 participants from about 70 countries.
Eight companies specializing in deep tech fields such as AI-based healthcare and green tech participated in the Korea Pavilion, introducing their technologies to local investors. To support overseas networking and pitching for startups, KOTRA, in collaboration with local accelerators, hosted the "K-Startup Demo Day."
A total of 37 domestic startups took part in the event, networking with over 150 representatives from investment firms and large corporations. Among them, 10 companies presented their business strategies during pitching sessions.
KOTRA also operated the "K-Tech Camp," a shared office space within the Nordic startup hub "Maria 01," providing meeting and resource spaces for participating companies.
The event saw the participation of major global venture capital firms such as Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz, as well as leading tech companies including OpenAI, Anthropic, Shopify, IQM, Google, and Supercell. During the exhibition, discussions focused on AI and deep tech, and meetings with startups were also held.
KOTRA has been operating the Korea Pavilion at Slush since 2013. The agency explained that some domestic startups that participated last year went on to conduct proof-of-concept projects in Finland, Estonia, and other countries.
