Fire at Apartment Parking Lot in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul... Fully Extinguished in 2 Hours and 30 Minutes
A fire broke out at 5:33 a.m. on November 21 in the piloti parking lot on the first floor of a nine-story apartment building in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. The fire was completely extinguished after about two hours and thirty minutes.
Due to the fire, 52 apartment residents suffered from smoke inhalation and were transported to the hospital.
Twenty-seven residents evacuated on their own, ten were guided out of the apartment by firefighters, and twenty-two were rescued by the fire department.
Eighteen vehicles parked in the lot were completely destroyed by the fire, but it was confirmed that the flames did not spread to the apartment units.
The fire department mobilized 313 personnel and 90 pieces of equipment, bringing the main blaze under control by 6:59 a.m.
