Gwanak District Achieves 94.2% Implementation Rate for 8th Administration Pledges, Surpassing Targets
Mayor Park Junhee: “We Will Accelerate the Remaining Projects”
Gwanak District in Seoul (District Mayor Park Junhee) announced on November 19 that, as it enters the fourth year of the 8th popularly elected administration, a review of the progress of its pledge projects revealed an implementation rate of 94.2% as of the third quarter of this year, significantly exceeding its goals.
The district reported that 17 out of a total of 60 pledges were completed ahead of schedule, and major initiatives such as revitalizing the social economy, supporting single-person households, hosting Youth Imagination Week, expanding smart crosswalks, and increasing parking facilities have all proceeded without delay.
Key pending projects-such as the realization of an innovative economic city through “Gwanak S Valley 2.0,” the construction of “Gwanak Culture and Welfare Town,” fostering an intercultural city, and strengthening the Ganggamchan brand power-are also expected to be completed ahead of schedule within the year. The district actively incorporates residents’ opinions through a policy advisory group, innovation and governance committees, and a citizen jury system. It also transparently releases the status of pledge implementation, budgets, and evaluation results on the district office’s website.
Gwanak District has received the highest grade (SA) for two consecutive years in the evaluation of pledge implementation and information disclosure, and has won the grand prize for three consecutive years at the National Manifesto Best Practices Competition for local government heads.
