Goyang City Makes Final Push to Collect 15.3 Billion Won in Overdue Vehicle Fines
Mass Notification of Overdue Vehicle Fines Sent to 11,897 Delinquent Payers
Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced that, in order to minimize vehicle fine delinquencies and establish tax order, it sent out mass notifications to delinquent payers regarding overdue vehicle fines on November 17 and began actively encouraging payment.
These notifications were sent to 11,897 individuals who have overdue vehicle fines, including those for mandatory insurance and inspection delays, totaling 15.3 billion won. The purpose is to remind delinquent payers of their overdue fines and encourage voluntary payment.
The notifications included detailed information on the amount overdue, payment deadlines, and various payment methods (CD/ATM machines, virtual accounts, local tax accounts, ARS, etc.) to provide convenience for payers.
The city plans to pursue strong collection measures, including seizure of real estate, vehicles, and accounts receivable, as well as vehicle license plate seizure and public auction, for those who fail to fulfill their legitimate payment obligations, in order to resolve overdue amounts.
