Danal Investment Partners Selected as '2025 TIPS Operator' by Ministry of SMEs and Startups
Danal Investment Partners, an affiliate of Danal, announced on November 18 that it has been newly selected as an operator for the 2025 TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startup), which is supervised by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Business Angels Association.
TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startup) is a program that identifies and nurtures startup teams with innovative technologies that can lead the global market, with private sector-led selection and intensive support. The core of the program is that the government matches and supports follow-up funding for R&D, commercialization, and overseas expansion.
Until now, Danal Investment Partners, as both a startup accelerator and venture capital firm, has discovered and invested in outstanding startups, supporting their growth by combining business capabilities with Danal and its affiliates. With this selection as a TIPS operator, the company expects to further accelerate the strengthening of capabilities and overseas expansion of more startups.
Specifically, if Danal Investment Partners, as a TIPS operator, invests at least 100 million won in a startup, the government will provide additional matching R&D funds-up to 500 million won for the general track, 1.5 billion won for the deep-tech track, and 1.2 billion won for the global track. In addition, up to 150 million won each can be provided for startup commercialization and overseas marketing as non-R&D linked support. If a company successfully graduates from the TIPS program, it will also have opportunities for follow-up commercialization funding through programs such as Post-TIPS and Global TIPS.
Above all, Danal Investment Partners plans to focus its support on companies in its core investment areas: ICT services, fintech (innovative finance), content, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics. It is expected that world-class companies based on pure Korean technology will emerge in these fields in the future.
Jin Changyong, CEO of Danal Investment Partners, stated, "This selection as a TIPS operator is significant in that it recognizes our capabilities as a venture investment firm and highlights the role of a first-generation venture company in leading a new generation of startups. We will mobilize all technological capabilities and networks at the group level to discover innovative startups and actively support their business expansion and overseas competitiveness."
