Visit Hamyang County for Rural Return and Settlement Experience
On November 18, Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it had organized a hands-on experience event for 25 trainees who completed the new farmer education program at the Gyeongnam Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services. The event took place at the Hamyang County Residential Agricultural Startup Support Center and focused on experiencing rural return and settlement.
This on-site program was designed to allow urban trainees preparing for a transition to farming and rural life to directly experience Hamyang's agricultural environment and settlement conditions.

View original imageParticipants engaged in a variety of programs, including an introduction to Hamyang County's rural return policies and successful models, a visit to residential housing complexes, learning about successful cases of agricultural product processing by returning farmers, visits to strawberry and onion farms with hands-on experiences using onions in local cuisine, and a tour of Gaepyeong Hanok Village. Through these activities, they were able to closely observe real-life farming operations.
One trainee shared, "During the course, I had only encountered these topics through demonstrations, but seeing them firsthand on-site allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of farming activities. It was particularly beneficial to learn in detail how producing processed goods based on agriculture can lead to the creation of high added value."
This visit to Hamyang County was arranged so that urban residents in South Gyeongsang Province, who are highly interested in agricultural management, could experience actual farming sites. The event was made possible by the practical, hands-on curriculum of the Gyeongnam Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services, combined with the county's strong commitment to sharing successful settlement cases of those who returned to farming in Hamyang.
