Silla University and Air Busan established an industry-academia cooperation system last year through the LINC3.0 project and have been operating a field trip program to foster outstanding flight dispatchers among Air Traffic Management students.
Through the tour, students directly experienced the main functions of the flight planning system in the operations control center, aviation safety, and efficient flight management. They also practiced core flight planning functions such as route configuration, fuel loading, and calculation of operational weight for flights departing from Gimhae Airport to Japan, Southeast Asia, and Guam.
Kim Jihyun, a third-year student who participated, said, "Experiencing the theories learned at school through an actual airline system helped me better understand my coursework and greatly motivated me to prepare for the flight dispatcher certification exam."
