Busan Veterans Affairs Office Holds 86th Memorial Day for Patriots Ceremony
Honoring the Sacrifice of Patriotic Forebears
under the Theme "You and I Who Will Shine on the Republic of Korea"
The Busan Regional Office of Veterans Affairs, led by Director Lee Namil, held the 86th Memorial Day Ceremony for Patriots at 11:00 a.m. on November 17 in the main auditorium on the 7th floor of the Busan Veterans Hall.

View original imageMemorial Day for Patriots is an annual nationwide event that honors the sacrifice and spirit of independence of patriotic forebears who devoted themselves to the restoration of national sovereignty.
This year's ceremony was held under the theme "You and I Who Will Shine on the Republic of Korea," quoting lyrics from the Independence Army Song. The event included the national pledge, the presentation of mayoral commendations, a report on the history of Memorial Day for Patriots, memorial addresses, commemorative speeches, a special performance, the singing of the Memorial Day for Patriots song, and a threefold cheer for the nation.
Approximately 150 people attended the event, including the Director of the Busan Regional Office of Veterans Affairs, the Director General of Administration and Autonomy of Busan Metropolitan City, heads of veterans' organizations, members of the Liberation Association, and students from Gyeongnam Girls' Middle School. In particular, members of the Liberation Association in Busan received commendations from the mayor.
