Hallym University MICE Planning and Management to Hold 'Town MICE Forum' Based on Local Commercial Districts on the 20th
Hallym University MICE Planning and Management Major
to Host Town MICE Forum with Puzzle Lab
Leveraging Local Assets
The MICE Planning and Management major at Hallym University (President Choi Yanghee) will host the "We Are Chance Producers Forum" (hereinafter referred to as the WACP Forum) on November 20 at the Beongae Market commercial district in Chuncheon.
Now in its fourth year, this forum is co-hosted with Puzzle Lab Co., Ltd., which is currently carrying out the Chuncheon Neighborhood Commercial District Development Center project. Under the theme "A Forum for Planning Enthusiasts Who Leave Stylish Records," the event will experimentally apply the Town MICE model, a new MICE model based on local commercial districts. The main focus will be to explore the potential for convergence among urban regeneration, local content, and the MICE industry within the old downtown commercial area.
The core theme of this forum is "Record." It aims to reinterpret the memories, experiences, and stories accumulated by local residents and merchants over time, transforming them beyond the concept of a mere "sales space" into new participatory content and event structures.
The forum will feature sessions on the concept and application strategies of the Town MICE model, examples of collaboration among commercial districts, universities, and local residents, as well as introductions to local tours and reward programs. In particular, Hallym University students will operate market-based tour programs and participatory events that they have planned themselves.
Lee Hwabong, adjunct professor of MICE Planning and Management at Hallym University, stated, "This event will serve as a real-world implementation case of the Town MICE model, which is based on the identity and spatial narrative of the commercial district," adding, "It will be a meaningful time for not only students but also local content planners, residents, and merchants of the old downtown commercial area, and various stakeholders active in the regional innovation field to come together."
