Yangyang County Saves About 45 Million Won by Having Public Officials Handle Lawsuits Directly
Yangyang County Rewards Outstanding Employees
Opportunity to Strengthen Expertise and Responsible Administration
Yangyang County in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 17th that it has recognized and rewarded outstanding employees for their contributions to fiscal soundness. These employees directly handled administrative and civil lawsuits without hiring external lawyers, thereby reducing legal representative fees and contributing to the county's financial health.
In a total of 10 recent lawsuits-including six administrative and four civil cases-the responsible public officials managed the entire litigation process themselves, from drafting answers and preparatory documents to participating in pleadings. This approach reduced the need for external legal representatives, contributed to the fiscal soundness of the county, and is estimated to have saved approximately 45 million won in budget expenditures.
In particular, the Permit Civil Affairs and Cadastral Information Team stood out by winning four administrative lawsuits. They thoroughly reviewed relevant laws and precedents regarding complex licensing and cadastral issues and established systematic litigation strategies, which led to a successful representation of the county's position.
Yangyang County plans to continuously support and strengthen the litigation capabilities of public officials, using this case as an opportunity to realize both budget savings and responsible administration. Additionally, the county aims to enhance both expertise and morale by rewarding outstanding employees.
