The Chuncheon Citizens Scholarship Foundation held an academy graduation ceremony on the 16th at Ilji Hall in Hongik Hall, Chuncheon National University of Education. The camp, which took place every weekend from October 25, brought together 100 elementary and middle school students from the Chuncheon area. The entire program was conducted as an immersive learning experience with native English-speaking instructors. This English camp focused on moving away from traditional rote learning and aimed to create a "Chuncheon-style English model" where students actively learn and participate on their own.

Participating students completed a total of 13 mission-based projects with native instructors, developing practical problem-solving skills in English that went beyond simply acquiring grammar or conversational knowledge.

One middle school participant said, "When I applied the expressions I learned in class directly to the projects, English no longer felt like sentences from a textbook, but like a language I could actually use myself."

This project-based learning (PBL) approach has been praised for maximizing students' active participation in class and their immersion in English.

In particular, this camp stood out as an innovative learning model that combined local collaboration with advanced technology. Through cooperation with the Chuncheon City Academy Association, the capabilities of local educational institutions were brought together, and the artificial intelligence (AI)-based English learning system "Abolinggo" was introduced. Students learned in an environment where they could ask and answer questions in English 24 hours a day, and the personalized feedback provided by AI was evaluated as maximizing both the frequency of English exposure and the learning effectiveness for each student.

Kim Heejoon, Secretary General of the Foundation, stated, "We will continue to expand and support project-based English education programs so that students can grow into future talents with global competitiveness."
