Second-Generation SME Leaders from Korea and Japan Gather to Discuss Business Succession
2025 KBIZ Next-Generation CEO School Advanced Course Graduation Program
The Korea Federation of SMEs announced that on November 13, it visited the 'Osaka Prefecture Small Business Entrepreneurs' Association' with the graduates of the 21st class of the 'KBIZ Next-Generation CEO School Advanced Course' and held a meeting between second-generation business leaders from Korea and Japan.
This meeting was held as part of the graduation training program for the 'Next-Generation CEO School Advanced Course' operated by the Korea Federation of SMEs. The KBIZ Next-Generation CEO School is a specialized educational program for future CEOs of small and medium-sized enterprises, launched in 2008 to support smooth business succession and the growth of outstanding SMEs. This graduation training program was organized to conclude the 12-week 'Advanced Course (21st class)', which was held every Friday from April 18 to July 11.

View original imageThis event brought together 22 second-generation business leaders from Korea and Japan at the association’s hall, beginning with introductions of both organizations, followed by a meeting between the 11 graduates of Korea’s Next-Generation CEO School Advanced Course and 11 members of the Osaka association. The participants then held a Q&A session on the forms and procedures of succession in both countries, the challenges and interests encountered during business succession, and shared insights on support policies for succession, public perceptions of succession in Japan, and the sense of mission as second-generation business leaders.

On the following day, November 14, the group visited Agency Assist Co., Ltd., a manufacturing company in Kyoto that has undergone business succession, to observe the manufacturing site firsthand and discuss common concerns and visions as second-generation business leaders.
