Hanmi Semiconductor Receives Micron Top Supplier Award
Hanmi Semiconductor announced on November 17 that it has received the 'Top Supplier' award from the American semiconductor company Micron Technology.
Every year, Micron hosts the 'Micron Supplier Awards', selecting and honoring the best-performing global partners in various categories based on their excellence in quality, technological innovation, service, and collaboration.
This year, the ceremony was held on November 13 (local time) at The Westin Hotel in San Francisco, USA.
Hanmi Semiconductor was recognized for its outstanding performance and received the Top Supplier award. This demonstrates that Hanmi Semiconductor possesses world-class technology and quality in the global semiconductor equipment market.
Hanmi Semiconductor holds the number one global market share in the field of TC Bonder equipment, which is essential for producing High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), a key component of artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors. Since 2002, the company has focused on strengthening its intellectual property rights and has continued to expand its technological competitiveness, including filing 130 patents related to HBM equipment to date.
In May of this year, Hanmi Semiconductor took the lead in launching the latest 'TC Bonder 4' equipment, designed to support mass production of the next-generation AI memory, HBM4. Additionally, following the establishment of Hanmi Taiwan in 2016, the company set up its Singapore subsidiary on October 2 this year, further enhancing its on-site service for Micron's local plants.
Micron has recently achieved record-breaking results and has been setting new highs in market capitalization, driven by the growth of the AI semiconductor market. Hanmi Semiconductor's equipment has played a crucial role in the expansion of HBM production.
According to market research firm Counterpoint, Micron's share in the global HBM market increased more than fourfold from 5% in the second quarter of 2024 to 21% in the second quarter of 2025. Thanks to this growth, Micron's market capitalization surged by 157% in just one year, from approximately $110.5 billion (about 160 trillion won) in November 2024 to about $284.3 billion (about 412 trillion won) this year. On November 13, investment bank Morgan Stanley significantly raised its target price for Micron from $220 to $325.
Kwak Dongshin, Chairman of Hanmi Semiconductor, stated, "There is a saying, 'Sawi Jigi Ja Sa (士爲知己者死),' which means, 'A true gentleman fulfills his duty for those who recognize his worth.' We will continue to provide Micron with the best service and advanced technology, and strive to maintain a strong partnership."
