"From Wine to Whisky and Traditional Liquor"... Shinsegae Department Store Hosts 'Drink Festa'
Rich Selection of Alcoholic Beverage Events from November 14
Gangnam Branch Showcases Rare Aged Suntory Whiskies for VIPs
Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 14th that it will hold the "Shinsegae Drink Festa" ahead of its second-half liquor warehouse clearance, offering a wide variety of alcoholic beverages at special prices.
This event, which runs at all locations from November 14 to 20, features a comprehensive selection of all types of alcoholic beverages, including wine, whisky, traditional Korean liquor, and sake.
Previously, the event was focused on wine under the theme of "Wine Warehouse Clearance," but as the trend of enjoying diverse alcoholic beverages has spread, the event has been expanded to introduce a wider range of products.
Recent purchasing patterns for alcoholic beverages are divided between premium products priced over 1 million won and lower-priced items. Shinsegae has secured a significant quantity of rare premium products, while also offering lower-priced items at up to 10% off compared to previous warehouse clearance events.
Representative premium wines include the "Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1997" (1.5 million won, Gangnam), which collaborates with world-renowned artists each year and is highly collectible; "Opus One 2014" (1.17 million won, Gangnam), a signature wine from Napa Valley, USA; and the limited-edition "Dom Perignon 2015" (459,000 won, all locations), created in collaboration with the acclaimed artist Takashi Murakami.
Specially priced wines in limited quantities are also available. These include "Se?a" (199,000 won, Gangnam, Main Store, Centum City, Daejeon, etc.), a renowned Chilean wine; "Textbook Napa Cabernet Sauvignon" (55,000 won, all locations), a famous Napa Valley wine; and "Luce della Vite Lucente" (40,000 won, Main Store, Centum City, Daejeon), the second label of a prestigious Italian wine known for its smooth texture and rich fruit flavors.
A wide range of whisky, traditional Korean liquor, and Japanese sake is also available. Notable products include "The Macallan 25 Year Old Sherry Oak" (3.09 million won, Main Store, Centum City, Daegu, Daejeon, Gwangju), a flagship single malt whisky from The Macallan Distillery; premium tequila "Komos Anejo Cristalino" (339,000 won, Main Store, Dogok); "Junmai Daiginjo Genshu Sakamai Kikusui" (94,000 won, Main Store, Dogok), a sake with a harmonious blend of rich aroma and flavor; "Senkin Nouveau" (72,000 won, Gangnam, Main Store, Daejeon, Dogok), a seasonal sake brewed with newly harvested rice and notable for its freshness and acidity; "Igangju Geumjandalbyeong Set 55%" (190,000 won, Gangnam, Main Store), a traditional Korean liquor with distinctive pear and ginger aromas; and "Horangi Yuzu Makgeolli 750ml" (3,500 won, Gangnam, Main Store), known as the toast liquor at the APEC Summit banquet.
Through "The Showcase," Shinsegae Department Store's VIP-exclusive curation platform, customers will have the opportunity to purchase three globally rare, well-aged Suntory whiskies (Yamazaki 25 Years Mizunara, Yamazaki 18 Years Mizunara, Hakushu 18 Years Peated Malt) via a lottery system.
During the event, a pop-up store selling non-alcoholic butterbeer, featured in famous movies, will open on the first basement floor of the Gangnam branch. Special offers and detailed event information for each store can be found through the Shinsegae Department Store application (app).
