Current Students, Graduates, and International Students... Gyeongnam Information College Sweeps Awards at CIDESCO Beauty Therapy Competition
Establishing Its Reputation as Busan’s Only CIDESCO Internationally Certified Institution
Current students, graduates, and international students from the K-Beauty Skin and Nail Department at Gyeongnam Information College swept numerous awards at an international beauty therapy competition.
Choi Min-sol, a first-year student, and Yoon Hye-jin, a graduate of the department, recently received the Grand Prize, the Minister of Health and Welfare Award, at the "2025 Korea CIDESCO Beauty Therapy Online Skills Competition." With this achievement, Gyeongnam Information College has produced Minister’s Award winners for eight consecutive years.

View original imageThe competition was hosted by the Korea Association of Skin Beauty and the Korean branch of CIDESCO, with support from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and other organizations. About 1,500 participants from across the country competed in various categories such as facial care and body shaping.
Students and international students from Gyeongnam Information College participated in a total of 104 categories. Choi Min-sol won the Grand Prize in the facial care category, while graduate Yoon Hye-jin received the Grand Prize in the body shaping category. In addition, 18 students received the President’s Award from the International CIDESCO Korean Branch, and 15 received the President’s Award from the Korea Association of Skin Beauty, among many other winners.
Choi Min-sol commented, “As the president of the Skin Love Club, I enhanced my practical skills through major open shop training sessions. I hope to obtain the international CIDESCO qualification and gain experience in overseas workplaces such as Singapore.”
At this competition, international student Bayarmunkh Tserendolgor from Mongolia won the President’s Award from the International CIDESCO Switzerland Headquarters, the top prize in the body shaping (lower body rear) category. In addition, 11 international students from the department received awards such as the President’s Award from the Korean Branch, the Central Association President’s Award, and Gold Prizes. These achievements are being positively evaluated as the result of systematic, practice-oriented education linked to the college’s RISE project.
Tserendolgor stated, “Thanks to the school’s international standard curriculum and active support, I was able to achieve great results. I will continue to grow as a beauty therapist recognized on the global stage.”
Kim Kyung-mi, head professor of the CIDESCO School at Gyeongnam Information College (K-Beauty Health Department), said, “As the only CIDESCO international beauty therapy education certification institution in Busan, our students are developing into professionals equipped with international standards and practical K-beauty skills. Moving forward, we will strengthen overseas exchanges and hands-on training to nurture talent that will lead the global beauty industry.”

Gyeongnam Information College has established the new ‘Global K-Beauty Department’ by integrating the K-Beauty Skin and Nail Department and the K-Beauty Health Department, and is currently recruiting 160 new students for the 2026 academic year, targeting not only school-age students but also adult learners and international students.
