The participants gained hands-on experience with the digital transformation (DX) and automation innovation (AX) of Busan Port, building their capabilities to become port logistics professionals.
On the first day, BPA field staff served as instructors and gave special lectures on topics such as ▲DX and AX strategies for ports ▲International logistics trends ▲Port construction and operation management systems.
In particular, the latest trends such as data-driven logistics efficiency, automated port systems, and ESG port policies were introduced with real-world examples, receiving a positive response from the students.
On the second day, participants visited the BPA New Port Branch and Dongwon Global Terminal (DGT), the first fully automated container terminal in Korea. The students observed unmanned cranes and AI-based operation systems firsthand, experiencing the practical workings of a smart port.
BPA plans to expand youth talent development programs in collaboration with local universities, starting with this camp. Next year, various programs such as customized on-site training for young people, living labs to solve social issues, and industry-academia-research cooperation projects are also planned.
Song Sangkeun, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "The competitiveness of Busan Port ultimately comes from people," and added, "The process of local university students directly seeing and learning about the present and future of the port is the greatest investment for the sustainable growth of Busan Port."
