The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on November 12 that the Gwangju Father Choir will hold its 34th Regular Concert at the Grand Theater of the Gwangju Culture and Arts Center on November 13.
Held under the theme "Let's Go! To the Land of Hope," this concert will feature a wide-ranging repertoire, from classical choral pieces to medleys of nostalgic popular songs. The choir is scheduled to perform a total of 12 songs, including "Rest (Family)," "Majung," "Fat Bird," "To the Land of Hope," and "Ah! Republic of Korea."
For this concert, the choir will be conducted by Yoon Wonjung, with piano accompaniment by Yoon Youngjoo. The performance will also feature a collaboration with the local band "Jangyi" (drummer Yoo Taekyung, bass guitarist Kim Minsu, electric guitarist Lee Kwanwoo, and second keyboardist Lee Dajin), delivering a stage filled with unique sounds and rich harmonies.
Admission to the concert is free for all seats, and members of the culturally underserved community, as well as citizens wishing to attend, may enter on a first-come, first-served basis. The children's choir "The Music Singers," making a special appearance, will perform two songs including "Today I Am the Star," while soprano Lim Hyunji will present two pieces including "Saljjagi Opseoye." In addition, the mothers' choir "Mamma Singers" will collaborate on three songs: "Hwagae Market," "Sesibong Medley," and "Goat and Village Grandfather."
