Gangseo District to Launch "2026 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign" Fundraising on the 15th
Achieved Top Fundraising Record in Seoul Last Year
Aiming for 2.5 Billion Won This Year
Gangseo District in Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyohun) will launch the “2026 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign” from November 15, 2025 to February 14, 2026. This annual public-private partnership campaign brings together residents, businesses, and organizations to support neighbors in need. This year’s slogan is “Donation That Adds Happiness, Transforming Gangseo Through Giving,” with a fundraising goal of 2.5 billion won.

Around 120 people, including Mayor Jin Gyohun, representatives from the Seoul Community Chest of Korea, institutional associations, and daycare and kindergarten federations, will attend the event to deliver donations and participate in performances.
The campaign will be carried out through resident-led initiatives such as the “Donation Relay” and the “Love Piggy Bank Heart Gathering,” which will involve more than 7,900 kindergarten and daycare children. Donations can be made at the district office, local community centers, or via QR code. Major donors will receive recognition, including a mayoral commendation and induction into the Hall of Honor.
Last year, Gangseo District achieved a record-breaking result by raising 4.78 billion won, more than double its target of 2 billion won. Heartwarming contributions included a 4 million won donation to celebrate a child’s birth, donations overcoming disabilities, and anonymous gifts, all of which deeply moved the local community. Through these efforts, the district provided financial and material support to over 38,000 households, significantly strengthening the social safety net.
Gangseo District, which has the highest welfare demand in Seoul, has maintained its reputation as the city’s top district for charitable giving, ranking first or second in fundraising for six consecutive years.
Mayor Jin Gyohun stated, “Our small acts of kindness can become great hope for someone in need,” and appealed to residents for their warm participation to ensure that struggling neighbors do not lose hope this winter. He added, “When we are together, winter becomes the warmest season of all.”
