Yeongdeungpo District in Seoul (Mayor Ho-Kwon Choi) announced on the 12th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education on the 11th to promote the 'Yeongdeungpo Education Cooperation Special Zone' and the 'School Manager Pilot Project.'

View original imageThe agreement for the 'Yeongdeungpo Education Cooperation Special Zone' aims to strengthen students' future competencies and support education that reflects the conditions and characteristics of the local community through mutual cooperation between the district and the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education.
Under the agreement, the district will work jointly with the Southern Education Support Office to implement various projects, including: ▲ operating education programs tailored to local characteristics ▲ establishing support systems for the growth of children and adolescents ▲ providing customized integrated support for students ▲ and expanding career and academic guidance programs.
The two institutions also signed a pilot project agreement to deploy and operate 'School Managers' responsible for managing school sports facilities. This project was designed to control access by outsiders and enhance student safety when school sports facilities are opened to the public.
In addition to assigning School Managers, the district will support enrollment in facility liability insurance to prevent accidents and will promote the use of school facilities by connecting sports clubs with schools. The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education plans to expand participation by providing incentives to schools that open their sports facilities. Both institutions intend to efficiently utilize local resources to meet the community's demand for recreational sports.
