77, Including Giuliani, Granted 'Unconditional Pardons'
"Measure for National Reconciliation"
According to a Justice Department official on November 9 (local time), President Donald Trump has issued pardons to a large number of his close associates, including former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who had raised allegations of fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
Ed Martin, the pardon attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, posted a declaration of a 'full and unconditional' pardon on his X (formerly Twitter) account late that night. The list of those pardoned includes former Mayor Giuliani, conservative attorneys Sidney Powell and John Eastman, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and approximately 77 others.

The document is dated November 7 and bears President Trump's signature at the end.
Since none of those included in the document have been convicted of federal crimes, the pardons are largely seen as symbolic. However, they could serve to prevent future administrations from prosecuting these individuals as conspirators.
Giuliani, who previously served as Mayor of New York City, has acted as President Trump's personal attorney since April 2018. After the 2020 presidential election, he was indicted in Georgia along with President Trump and former Chief of Staff Meadows on charges of attempting to overturn the election results.
In January, President Trump pardoned more than 1,500 of his supporters who were indicted in connection with the January 6 Capitol riot and commuted the sentences of 14 others.
