Sokcho City in Gangwon Province has been selected as a top-performing local government in the sales of regional gift certificates and will receive 270 million won in national funding.

View original imageAccordingly, starting from November 10, Sokcho City will launch an additional event offering 5% cashback on payments made with Sokcho Love Gift Certificates. The cashback limit is set at a maximum of 50,000 won per person. This event will run until December or until the allocated budget is exhausted.
This event is an extension of the additional refund promotion that began on October 29 and is expected to help boost sales for local small businesses and encourage consumer spending among residents.
The Sokcho Love Gift Certificates can be purchased through the mobile app "Local Love Gift Certificate chak." Immediate card issuance is also available at NongHyup, Woori Bank, National Credit Union, Saemaul Geumgo, and Korea Post branches. The certificates can be used at 4,202 affiliated stores within Sokcho City.
If the certificates are not used at all after purchase, a refund is available within seven days. Partial refunds are also possible if more than 60% of the charged amount has been used. The validity period is five years from the date of purchase.

A Sokcho City official stated, "This additional cashback event is being implemented using incentives earned in recognition of our outstanding sales performance nationwide. We hope that active participation from citizens will greatly contribute to the recovery of the local commercial district." The official added, "We will continue to develop various policies to stimulate consumption and revitalize the local economy."
