Gwangju City Purchases 72,000 kg of Public Reserve Rice in Toechon-myeon Area
Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province purchased 72,000 kilograms of public reserve rice for the 2025 harvest on November 5 at 530 Gwangdong-ri, Toechon-myeon.

View original imageOn the day of the purchase, 36 local farms participated in the event, where they had the quality of the rice they had carefully cultivated over the past year evaluated and went through the procedures for public reserve purchase, including transportation.
Last year, the purchase price for public reserve rice was set at 65,600 won per 40 kilograms for special grade, 63,510 won for first grade, and 60,690 won for second grade. The purchase price for the 2025 harvest will be finalized at the end of December, based on the nationwide average farm-gate rice price during the harvest season (October to December) as surveyed by Statistics Korea.
In addition, the interim payment provided to farms immediately after purchase remains the same as last year at 40,000 won per 40 kilograms, and the remaining balance will be paid in a lump sum by the end of December after the final purchase price is determined.
