A Nostalgic "7080 Sentimental Festival" Experience
Jinan County in North Jeolla Province will host the "Wish Stone Tower Building National Competition" and "Mydolkkaebi Festival" events at the Geumdangsa Park area in southern Maisan from November 8 to 9.
According to the county on November 4, the events will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Designed as a "7080 Sentimental Festival," the event aims to evoke nostalgia for the days when people would place their wishes on a single stone and immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of a village marketplace.

View original imageThe "Wish Stone Tower Building National Competition" will be divided into a general division (open, family, and student categories) on November 8, and a professional division on November 9. Each category within the general division-open, family, and student-will have 10 teams, for a total of 30 teams. Winners will be determined by combining on-site evaluations from experts and votes from spectators.
The total prize money amounts to 7.8 million won. In the professional division, the grand prize is 3 million won, the top excellence award is 2 million won, and the excellence award is 1 million won. In the general division, each category-open, family, and student-will award a grand prize of 500,000 won, a top excellence award of 300,000 won, and an excellence award of 100,000 won.
The "Mydolkkaebi Festival" will also feature hands-on experiences and attractions that awaken memories for the 7080 generation. These include traditional games using stones, nostalgic rides such as spring horses and trampolines, an old-fashioned photo studio with instant photo booths, a photo zone featuring works by professional artists, and a festival street zone that recreates the atmosphere of old markets.
The performance program will include a fusion Korean traditional music team’s pansori play, as well as circus and magic shows, creating a stage enjoyable for all ages. In particular, on November 8, there will be lively performances by the Wollang Goblin troupe and the Jinan Jungpyeong Gut Preservation Society.
Additionally, the "Food Goblin Festival" will offer nostalgic snacks such as donuts and dumplings for sale. There will also be a "Memory Music Caf?" where visitors can request songs along with their stories, bringing back the romance of the days when people would hand their song requests to the caf? DJ.
