The festival featured a geological interpretation contest, a teaching material competition, and field trips to Gosu Cave and Dodamsambong. Participants shared outstanding interpretation techniques and program examples from their respective regions. At the event, various elements were exchanged, including interpreters’ methods of delivering information, ways to organize educational materials, and techniques to encourage visitor participation. Pocheon City particularly focused on enhancing practical interpretation skills and the effective use of teaching materials, and plans to use these insights to improve the interpretation programs of the Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark in the future.
A geopark interpreter who attended the event said, "It was an opportunity not only to learn interpretation techniques, but also to reflect on the philosophy of geopark management and the direction of interpretation," and added, "After seeing the diverse interpretation methods and visitor engagement strategies from different regions, I realized the need to develop a unique Pocheon-style interpretation model."
An official from Pocheon City stated, "Through this event, we were able to benchmark excellent management cases from other geoparks and create an opportunity to further develop Pocheon's own geotourism content. We will provide citizens and visitors with a higher level of geological education and experiences, and strengthen the domestic and international standing of the Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark."
