Hongcheon Riders Day, which debuted this year, is a new type of exchange event that combines the region’s signature festival themed around ginseng and Korean beef with rider culture. Participants rode together against the backdrop of Hongcheon’s clear nature, interacted with one another, and heightened the festive spirit by joining various on-site events and prize draws.
Additionally, participants visited other major autumn festivals in Hongcheon, such as the Ginseng and Korean Beef Festival and the Apple Festival, where they experienced the region’s agricultural and specialty products and culture firsthand. Through these activities, Hongcheon County expanded the scope of festival participation and confirmed the potential for rider-focused, stay-type tourism to revitalize the local economy.
Close cooperation among related organizations ensured the smooth running of the event. The Hongcheon Cultural Foundation provided stage and sound equipment, supported 10 promotional and operations booths (tents), and supplied 300 seats. Neulpureum Hanwoo Plaza offered participants Korean beef soup at a 30% discount and plans to continue offering a 10% discount on Korean beef soup and other menu items, as well as free coffee for riders even after the event.
The Livestock Division of Hongcheon County completed mowing work around the venue and provided staff for parking and entry guidance on the event day. MK Network Tour, the organizer, was responsible for recruiting participants, operating detailed programs, and promoting both the Ginseng and Korean Beef Festival and the Apple Festival, thereby enhancing the overall quality of the event.
On the day of the event, 10 booths were set up, stage and sound facilities were operated, traffic control and entry guidance staff were deployed, and prizes were sponsored. This seamless integration of the rider event and the festival allowed participants and visitors to move naturally between activities and experience the diverse attractions of Hongcheon.
