Let us strive to become a truly recognized eco-friendly and secondary battery leader on the world stage."
Lee recalled, "Ecopro began 27 years ago in a small space of about 33 square meters in Seocho-dong, Seoul, with just one employee. Now, we are expanding globally. The energy of challenge that turned the impossible into possible will be the driving force to turn today's crisis into opportunity."
He continued, "The environmental business was founded on the belief that it is an absolute industry that will continue to grow as long as humanity exists. Ecopro's history is about creating something from nothing and opening paths no one else has taken." He emphasized, "What allowed us to turn crisis into opportunity was securing our own technological capabilities. Only by achieving unrivaled technological superiority and cost competitiveness that no one can match can we secure a dominant position in the market."
Lee also announced, "At the end of next month, the cathode material plant in Debrecen, Hungary, will be completed. For the first time among domestic cathode material companies, we have established a large-scale local production system in Europe. With an annual capacity of 50,000 tons, this plant will become a key global hub for electric vehicle batteries by entering the local market with new products."
Finally, Lee stated, "Ecopro must become a company that grows together with the local economy. During my tenure, we will not establish a corporation in the Seoul metropolitan area or build a flashy company building, but will grow together with the region."
