Official Opening of 'K-Ginseng House' in California Next Year
Korean Wave Festival Featuring Ginseng to Be Held
Increasing Ginseng Product Awareness and Expanding Distribution
Using New York as a Strategic Base
Park Beomin, County Governor of Geumsan, stated, "Through my business trip to the United States for the globalization of K-Ginseng, I confirmed the explosive demand for Korean culture in the US." He added, "We will use Los Angeles and New York, cities with large Korean and Asian populations, as strategic bases to raise awareness of ginseng products and expand distribution."
On the 22nd, Governor Park held a press conference at the county office briefing room and said, "From October 14 to 20, I carried out a simultaneous K-Ginseng globalization business trip to both the East and West Coasts of the US, lasting seven days and five nights." He emphasized, "Geumsan County plans to introduce a Korean Wave festival themed around ginseng in conjunction with the official opening of the K-Ginseng House in California next year."
On October 16, Governor Park attended the "Korean Ginseng Day" event at the opening ceremony of the 52nd Los Angeles Korean Festival in Los Angeles, where he promoted Geumsan Ginseng to the public.
This event once again confirmed the institutional symbolism and credibility of K-Ginseng in the United States. In particular, the Korean community, political circles, and media showed interest in the event, resulting in Geumsan Ginseng receiving exposure across various sectors.
Especially notable was the high popularity of ginseng products at the agricultural expo venue, where all products were sold out, further highlighting the excellence of Geumsan Ginseng.
K-Ginseng House is a multi-cultural business model that combines a ginseng restaurant, cafe, bakery, beauty shop, and experiential spaces. It serves as a strategic base to broaden consumer contact points and accelerate the localization of ginseng products.
During this trip, Governor Park visited wholesale companies such as B&A Frontier Trading and Mega Mart, as well as retail stores like The Source Mall and Home Shopping World in Los Angeles, to explore the potential for expanding the distribution of Geumsan Ginseng products.
Going forward, the county plans to enhance export competitiveness through joint marketing during the Geumsan Ginseng sales week, customized consulting, and compiling lists of export companies.
Additionally, in New York, he attended the signing ceremony of a business agreement with the New York Korean Produce Association. Through this, the county aims to expand its distribution network in the eastern US and intensify promotional activities.
Both parties agreed to practical cooperation, including: ▲ expanding exports of Geumsan agricultural products ▲ joint promotions such as tasting events ▲ cooperation on customs clearance and certification ▲ and sharing information and personnel exchanges.
The county also plans to implement product development and distribution strategies utilizing the distribution network of over 2,000 members held by the New York Korean Produce Association.
On October 17, Governor Park visited the planned site for the second K-Ginseng House to establish and expand the distribution network in the eastern US market.
The second location is expected to achieve strong sales of Korean ginseng due to the area's diverse population, and is scheduled to open within the next six months.
Gil Junhyeon, CEO of Liberty Group, stated, "Although profits from Geumsan Ginseng product sales are not yet significant, out of hometown pride, we are installing large Geumsan Ginseng product displays in our stores and working to expand them to other locations as well."
An official from the Los Angeles Korean Festival Foundation commented, "The event was well-organized and provided a valuable opportunity to gain a new understanding of Korean ginseng."
