The Department of Health Administration has focused on cultivating "health administration professionals with strong field expertise" by systematically operating practice-oriented education, customized career support, mentoring, and industry-academia cooperation programs. Centered around "Health Administration Day," the department has institutionalized special lectures by alumni and professionals, as well as intensive lectures to prepare for national exams. It has also strengthened clinical practice at medical institutions and education linked with public organizations, creating an educational environment that combines practical experience and expertise.
As a result, last year’s pass rate for the national exam for health information managers was 75%, significantly exceeding the national average of 60%. The department also ranked among the top nationwide in other professional certification tests, achieving a pass rate of 81% for hospital administrators (national average: 76%) and 80% for health insurance specialists (national average: 70%), demonstrating the excellence of its practice-oriented education.
These educational achievements have also translated into employment outcomes. In addition, the department continues to expand into areas such as loss adjustment, industrial and corporate positions, and other health-related professions, with its multi-layered career support system delivering tangible results.
Many graduates of the department are furthering their expertise by pursuing advanced studies at the Graduate School of Health Counseling at Gwangju University, majoring in health care management. There are also consistent cases of graduates growing into full-time professors, adjunct instructors, educational lecturers, and research specialists. This full-cycle growth track-from undergraduate to graduate studies, to professional, and then to professor or researcher-is recognized as a distinctive educational model at the department level.
