International students shared their academic and life experiences in Korea through short videos, aiming to provide an opportunity for the university and the local community to listen more closely to and empathize with the voices of international students.
More than 60 international students participated in the contest, engaging in fierce competition. As a result of the judging, the grand prize was awarded to Loemun from Myanmar. The gold prize went to Pyaemsaengmunja (Myanmar), the silver prize to Chanthaison and Kainyui (Vietnam), and the encouragement award was given to Su Yang (China) and 11 other students.
During the awards ceremony, hosted by the Office of International Affairs at Jeonju University, the winning videos were screened, moving and resonating with the audience through the sincere stories of the international students.
Loemun, the grand prize winner from Myanmar (Department of Business Administration, majoring in Logistics and Trade), said, "Through this video, I wanted to show how international students are continuing their studies and lives in Korea. The process of making the video was a meaningful time for me to reflect on my own university life."
Shim Youngguk, Director of the Office of International Affairs at Jeonju University, stated, "Through short-form content on social media, which is familiar to the younger generation, we were able to capture the vivid lives of international students living in Korea. We hope to continue sharing the bright and joyful university lives of international students with the local community through contests and review programs in the future."
He added, "We plan to operate various programs to strengthen the capabilities of international students and further solidify the support and management system for them through cooperation with the local community. We will also actively utilize the content from this contest to attract more international students, promoting our region as a great city for studying abroad."
