Paju City Hosts Gyeonggi Province's Top 'Beautiful Signboard Contest' Awards, Leading the Advancement of Signboard Culture
16th Paju City Beautiful Signboard Contest Award Ceremony Held
Nine Outstanding Works Selected and Awarded
Presented at the Architectural Culture Festival
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province held an award ceremony on October 17 for the nine outstanding entries in the 16th Paju City Beautiful Signboard Contest.

View original imageThe Paju City Beautiful Signboard Contest is the longest-running contest of its kind in Gyeonggi Province, held annually since 2010. This year, 85 works were submitted, and a total of nine entries-including five outstanding works in the creative signboard category and four in the installed signboard category-were awarded at the opening ceremony of the 1st Paju City Architectural Culture Festival.
Entries that passed the first round of screening underwent a second, final review by the Outdoor Advertising Deliberation Committee. Ultimately, nine signboards that were small, aesthetically pleasing, used eco-friendly materials, and harmonized with their buildings were selected as the final winners.
In the creative signboard category, the winners were: ▲Grand Prize: Lee Seungyeon's "Odoro Breath, Crafted - Empty Day and Night Filled with Light" ▲Excellence Award: Lim Jiwon's "Yuldamseoga" ▲Merit Award: Jeon Yujin, Jang Subin, and Park Jihye's "Taste of Tradition, Captured in a Signboard-Gyeongseong Western Confectionery" ▲Encouragement Award: Park Soonchan's "Star Confectionery" and Shim Sobin's "Plant Sense." In the installed signboard category, the winners were: ▲Grand Prize: "Our Neighborhood Full Moon Beokgu Bake" (Gajaeullo 96) ▲Excellence Award: "Jjamppongin" (Chaekhyanggiro 277) ▲Merit Award: "Livy Milk" (Gyeongu-ro 1080) ▲Encouragement Award: "Susu Bakery" (Cheongseok-ro 266).

View original imageThe winning works will be featured in both the award ceremony exhibition and a traveling exhibition. In addition, based on this contest, Paju City plans to produce a "Paju City Beautiful Signboard Guidebook," which will be actively utilized in the city's signboard improvement projects.
Jang Hyehyeon, head of the Architectural Design Division, stated, "We will continue to support and make every effort to promote various activities that enhance the value of signboards, so that Paju City can lead the advancement of signboard culture."
