Sangju Ain Comprehensive Welfare Center, A Day of Shared Smiles... 22nd Family Festival a Great Success

Over 400 People with Disabilities, Families, and Citizens Gather Together
Opening a New Chapter in Community Welfare Through Communication and Empathy

Sangju City Hall's Ain Comprehensive Welfare Center (Director Lee Dongmyung) successfully held the 22nd Family Festival on October 17 at the Sangju Citizen Sports Complex Gymnasium.

Over 400 participants, including people with disabilities, their families, volunteers, and citizens, came together for a meaningful time of sharing and unity.

The Family Festival is held annually to provide people with disabilities and their families an opportunity to step away from daily routines, enjoy leisure activities, build emotional bonds, and promote interaction with the local community.

Since its first event in 1999, this has become Sangju's leading welfare event for 22 years, serving as a platform for raising awareness about disabilities and spreading a culture of inclusion.

During the first part of the event, key figures such as the mayor of Sangju, members of the National Assembly, and city council members delivered congratulatory remarks, emphasizing the importance of public responsibility and solidarity in disability welfare.

The second part featured a variety of experience and unity programs, including O·X quizzes and activities like Schullen and Hangung, in which people with and without disabilities participated together, filling the venue with laughter and encouragement.

Director Lee Dongmyung stated, "A place where people with and without disabilities come together marks the true beginning of welfare. The welfare center will continue to do its best to create a community where all people with disabilities are respected and live equally."

Sangju's Family Festival has grown beyond a simple welfare event to become a symbol of solidarity and inclusion within the local community. This day, where people with and without disabilities laughed together, was a living testament to Sangju's welfare philosophy.
