AI to Care for Elderly and Single-Person Households at High Risk of Solitary Death... Welfare Calls and On-Site Dispatch
Daegu Urban Development Corporation Signs MOU with Partners
KT Telecop and Naver Cloud Join the Collaboration
Daegu Urban Development Corporation (President: Jeong Myungseop) announced on October 16 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with KT Telecop, Naver Cloud, and Sejong Networks to establish a collaborative system for building a care and safety housing service using AI technology.
Through this agreement, the companies plan to integrate Naver Cloud's AI welfare call service "Clova CareCall," KT Telecop's real-time monitoring and dispatch system, and Sejong Networks' all-care service control system to create an AI-based care system for elderly individuals and single-person households at high risk of solitary death.

The corporation will provide a non-face-to-face AI welfare check service, and if the AI detects any abnormal signs, the control center will immediately verify the situation and coordinate an emergency response by collaborating with KT Telecop dispatch teams, 119 emergency services, and property management offices.
The "Clova CareCall" service used in this process is powered by Naver's generative AI technology. It routinely calls the target individuals to check on their health and daily living conditions. These regular AI welfare calls are expected to provide emotional support and companionship, contributing to the psychological stability and daily recovery of single-person households experiencing feelings of isolation.
Daegu Urban Development Corporation plans to operate a pilot project for one year under this agreement, verify its effectiveness, and then gradually expand the scope of its application. By proactively introducing AI technology into its housing welfare projects, the corporation aims to overcome budgetary and staffing limitations and strengthen its ability to provide customized welfare services.
