Uljin County to Host 'Bustling BookzBookz Booknic' Book Festival
A Blend of Books and Music
To Be Held at Yeonho Park on the 19th
Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province will host the ‘Bustling BookzBookz Booknic’ book festival at Yeonho Park on October 19.
This event is designed to create a cultural space where books and music come together, allowing people to naturally encounter books in their daily lives. The goal is to promote reading not just as a means of acquiring knowledge, but as an enjoyable cultural activity.
The main programs include a self-directed reading time where visitors can sit on beanbag sofas at Yeonho Park and read, a picture book performance accompanied by the Clapp Studio live band, a book concert by Professor Park Jungho on the theme ‘Why Books Are More Necessary in the Fourth Industrial Revolution,’ and a finale musical that reinterprets scenes from fairy tales and novels with music. These offerings are expected to provide visitors with a diverse experience where books, music, and culture come together, allowing them to discover the joy of reading.
Side events will feature a variety of hands-on booths, including making Shrinkles keyrings, resin bead bookmarks, wooden book holders, and scented bookmarks. These activities will give participants the fun of creating something themselves and offer a special opportunity to become more familiar with books.
On the same day, starting at 10 a.m., the Uljin County Gymnasium will host the Reading Golden Bell event, which is expected to further enhance the local reading atmosphere through a variety of experiences and quizzes.
