Gapyeong County Secures 1 Billion Won in Provincial Funding for Jojongcheon Riverside Space Development
Selected as "Top Project" in Gyeonggi Province Stream Policy Audition
Traditional Archery Range and Walking Trail to Be Built
Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province announced on October 13 that its "Jojongcheon Riverside Space Development Project" was selected as the top project in the "Gyeonggi Province Local Stream New Policy Audition Contest," securing 1 billion won in provincial funding.
With this selection, Gapyeong County will begin full-scale efforts to build a traditional archery range and a 1.5-kilometer walking trail in the area of 557 Hyeon-ri, Jojong-myeon. The total project cost is 2 billion won, with half-1 billion won-supported by provincial funds.
The county plans to start the detailed design service in January 2026 and aims to complete the project by December 2027. Once finished, the addition of a new archery range and the creation of a walking trail will expand the infrastructure for recreational sports for local residents. In addition, by connecting with the existing Jojongcheon deck road, the leisure spaces available to residents will be further enriched.
This project is designed to redevelop the Jojongcheon area into a resident-friendly waterfront space, with the county planning to strengthen eco-friendly features. Power for the landscape lighting along the archery range and walking trail will be supplied by solar power facilities, ensuring the operation of low-carbon, environmentally friendly infrastructure.
