The celebration will begin with a pre-ceremony performance by the Samcheok Citizens’ Choir and the Cheonga Middle School cheerleading team, followed by the reading of the Citizens’ Charter (by Kim Daehwa, Director of the Samcheok Cultural Center and last year's Samcheok Citizens’ Award Grand Prize winner), the presentation of the Samcheok Citizens’ Award, commemorative and congratulatory speeches, and the singing of the Samcheok Citizens’ Song.
This year, the Grand Prize of the 31st Samcheok Citizens’ Award will be presented to Yoo Jaeyong, Chairman of the Samcheok City Social Organizations Council, for his contributions to municipal development. The main prizes will be awarded to Lee Seongguk and Han Sangchan, respectively.
After the official ceremony, there will be traditional performances by the Samcheok Jobi Nongak Troupe, as well as sports events such as the rope-pulling game, group jump rope, and group ball rolling, along with a citizens’ singing contest. Invited singers including Kim Yeonja, Tae Jinah, Park Sangcheol, and Joo Yehee will also perform. In addition, local food markets representing each town and district will be operated at the venue.
