Samsung Recruiting 15th Cohort for SSAFY to Foster Next-Generation Youth AI Talent
Recruitment from June 27 to July 10
One-year program at five campuses nationwide starting January next year
Samsung announced on the 13th that it will be recruiting trainees for the 15th cohort of the Samsung Software & AI Academy for Youth (SSAFY) from the 27th of this month until the 10th of next month.
SSAFY is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program operated by Samsung to broaden the base of the domestic information technology (IT) ecosystem and enhance the employment competitiveness of young people. Anyone under the age of 29 who is preparing for employment and has graduated from a university or Meister high school is eligible to apply.
The training will take place over one year starting in January next year at five campuses nationwide: Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju, Gumi, and the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (BUK) region (located in Busan).
Each region offers specialized courses: Daejeon has the "Data Track" for learning data engineering; Gwangju features the "Embedded Robot Track" utilizing collaborative and service robots; Gumi provides the "Mobile Track" where trainees can learn the Kotlin language for Android development; and Seoul offers the "Embedded Track," where participants can study systems and modules based on the C language.
The curriculum spans two semesters for a total of 1,725 hours, of which 1,025 hours are dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) training. In the first semester, trainees build foundational coding skills, and in the second semester, they gain practical experience by executing AI projects in environments similar to real workplaces.
Trainees receive a monthly educational support stipend of 1 million won. After enrollment, they also have access to various employment support services, including personalized job consulting with dedicated employment consultants, job fairs, company information sessions, and mentoring from company employees.
