Participants spent several months researching agendas, drafting scenarios, attending standing committee meetings, and collaborating with city council member mentors, experiencing processes similar to actual legislative work.
The Dong-A University team presented a policy approach to regional balanced development in Busan and the realization of the city’s vision as a maritime capital through their theme on support measures for the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Following last year’s grand prize for their proposal on introducing “Smart AI Senior Centers,” the team was once again highly evaluated for their concrete, issue-centered policy suggestions.
Department Chair Joo Inseok stated, “The mock council competition goes beyond a simple contest; it is an educational platform where the next generation directly participates in solving community issues and develops political sensitivity. I am proud that our students proposed realistic policy alternatives and achieved tangible results. I hope these experiences will contribute to the development of our local community.”
