Gumi City has completed and opened the entire section of the urban planning road (Route Dae1-12) between Geumjeon and Imcheon-ri, which had remained unconstructed following the cancellation of the Free Economic Zone designation.
The newly opened road was built with a total project cost of 4.6 billion won. It stretches 210 meters from Geumjeon Bridge in Imcheon-ri, Sandong-eup to Sanho-daero, with a width of 30 meters and six lanes.

However, after the Free Economic Zone designation was lifted in August 2014, the remaining 210 meters were left unbuilt, resulting in a prolonged road disconnection. This caused significant inconvenience for local residents and companies located in the Gumi National Industrial Complex No. 4.
With the opening of the road, the section between Geumjeon and Imcheon-ri is now connected, and traffic flow is expected to improve significantly.
In particular, accessibility to the Gumi National Industrial Complex No. 4, National Route 25, and the Jungang Expressway will be greatly enhanced, which is expected to improve logistics and distribution efficiency.
This is expected to not only enhance the competitiveness of business activities but also contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
