Damyang County to Reduce Water and Sewage Fees by 50% for Flood-Affected Residents

Damyang County in South Jeolla Province announced on October 2, 2025, that it will reduce water and sewage fees by 50% for one month to alleviate the financial burden on residents affected by the recent heavy rains.
This measure is intended to support recovery efforts and stabilize the lives of residents in Damyang County, which has been designated as a special disaster area. Households registered in the National Disaster Management System (NDMS) will automatically receive the discount without needing to apply separately.
The reduction will be applied to the fees billed in October 2025, and approximately 2,100 households are expected to benefit. The total amount of the reduction is projected to reach around 30 million won.

A county official stated, "We hope this reduction will help ease the financial burden on affected residents and support the normalization of their daily lives," adding, "We will continue to actively review various support measures in the future."
