Why did Sri Lankan government officials visit Dong-Eui University?
Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan) recently held a training program for officials from the Sri Lankan Ministry of Education, sharing cases of Korea's digital transformation in education and innovations in teaching and learning.
With support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Dong-Eui University conducted a two-week training program from September 8 to 21 as part of an official development assistance (ODA) project aimed at establishing the National Institute of Technical Education in Sri Lanka. The program provided Sri Lankan officials with advanced Korean teaching and learning methodologies and included visits to local educational sites.
During the training, Dong-Eui University faculty served as instructors, delivering lectures and workshops on topics such as digital education policy, AI-based teaching methods, and the design of problem-based learning (PBL) and team-based learning (TBL). Participants also explored cases of educational innovation through field visits to the Dong-Eui University Center for Teaching and Learning, Busan Gaegum High School, Busan Computer Science High School, and the National Science Museum of Busan.
Through this training and the Action Plan development and presentation sessions, the Sri Lankan officials also established concrete implementation plans that can be applied to their own educational settings.
