View original imageOn October 1, Chuncheon City held the 20th Chuncheon City Startup Innovation Council at the Gangwon National University Bodeum Hall conference room, with attendees including Chung Jae-yeon, president of Gangwon National University, Choi Yang-hee, president of Hallym University, and officials from 14 related local organizations.
At the council meeting, Chuncheon City discussed its response plan in connection with the new government's goal of becoming one of the world's top three AI powerhouses and achieving a 3% potential growth rate. The discussion also covered the creation of new industrial complexes, expansion of startup infrastructure, and startup support projects by each institution, as they explored directions for their response.
The participating organizations agreed to designate AI and biotechnology as core strategic industries and to promote the establishment of an AI convergence new materials industrial complex, expansion of bio-specialized infrastructure, and strengthening of support for advanced technology R&D and demonstration. They also shared plans for institutional support, program operation, and activation of networking to foster the growth of startup companies.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Gangwon National University further strengthened its cooperation for building a regional startup ecosystem by attaching the signboard for Chuncheon's startup brand 'Station C.' Station C is an urban startup brand that integrates Chuncheon's startup policy space and program resources.
