"Is an ETF Like a Meal Kit?"... New Concept Investment Variety Show "From Today, RISE ETF" Gains Attention
KB Asset Management announced on October 1 that its new concept investment variety show, "From Today, RISE ETF," released through the official RISE ETF YouTube channel, is drawing significant attention among investors.
"From Today, RISE ETF" serves to deliver information about Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) in an easy and entertaining way. Instead of a one-sided lecture by an ETF expert, the show is presented as a variety program where beginners learn from scratch-a true "investment study variety show." Popular comedian Hwang Jesung, band Peppertones member Lee Jangwon, Oh My Girl’s Seunghee, and broadcaster Lee Hyeseong have come together as an "ETF Study Group," documenting their journey of studying investments and taking on real-life challenges together.
In the first episode, released on September 29, the four members met for the first time and shared their personal investment experiences, creating a sense of camaraderie.
Among the cast, Hwang Jesung confessed to his bittersweet investment life, saying, "I’ve been investing for six years, but my account is down 90%, so my whole body feels like it’s covered in burns." Lee Jangwon admitted, "I passed the Level 1 Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam, but I have no real investment experience."
Scenes combining expert explanations with the members’ honest reactions also stood out. When Lee Sujin, Head of ETF Product Marketing at KB Asset Management, explained, "An ETF is like a meal kit that bundles everything you need, instead of buying individual stocks one by one," the cast immediately understood and nodded in agreement. They also resonated with the principle of legendary investor Warren Buffett, recognizing that the core of long-term investment is "low fees."
The basic concepts and advantages of ETFs were also introduced at a beginner’s level. ETFs can be traded during market hours like stocks, offer automatic diversification, have low fees, and provide high transparency through daily portfolio disclosure.
No Areum, Head of the ETF Business Division at KB Asset Management, explained, "From Today, RISE ETF is an educational variety program that delivers ETF investment knowledge in a fun and accessible way," adding, "We planned it to break away from the stiff image of traditional financial education and to deliver both laughter and learning."
